On August 19, 2025, at Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Jazz at Lincoln Center, New York City, a sextet led by stellar tenor saxophonist Jerry Weldon paid tribute to the great trumpeter and flugelhornist Art Farmer very close to what would have been his 97th birthday. Farmer and his twin brother Addison were born on August 21, 1928 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Beside the leader, the ensemble included Joe Magnarelli (trumpet, flugelhorn), Peter Lin (trombone), George Cables (piano), Alexander Claffy (bass) and Billy Drummond (drums).
The material performed came mostly from the catalog of the original 1960-1962 Jazztet.
