The First Art Farmer and Addison Farmer Memorial Jazz Festival, Council Bluffs, Iowa August 16 – 17, 2002

This Memorial Festival was produced by Jazz Arts Midwest, Inc.

Printed Program: August 16: live music, two panel discussions and a presentation of A Great Day in Harlem film in which Art was interviewed. August 17: live music including The Bluffs Big Band, the Bobby Watson Quartet with Guitarist Dave Stryker; Ashanti; and the grand finale: Art Farmer’s Quintet: Ron Blake, saxophone; Geoffrey Keezer, piano; Kenny Davis, bass; Lewis Nash, drums and Jimmy Owens on trumpet.

In addition, prior and during the Festival, there was an exhibit of Art Farmer memorabilia at the Council Bluffs Public Library.
